ALPS Mountaineering Crescent Lake Long Mummy Sleeping Bag (34 x 86-Inch), 0-Degrees Get Rabate

ALPS Mountaineering Crescent Lake Long Mummy Sleeping Bag (34 x 86-Inch), 0-Degrees
The Crescent Lake series sleeping bags are made with Techloft+ insulation. Techloft+ Insulation consists of multi-hole staple-length micro-denier fibers that have a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft, and compactness. The Crescent Lake uses a 2-layer offset construction, sometimes called a "bag within a bag." The contoured hood and mummy shape helps seal up your warmth and keep you warmer. The Crescent Lake is a great backpacking sleeping bag to take along on your hikes that wonít take up all the space in your pack.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Great Cool Weather Bag
Upon first glance the overall quality of this sleeping bag was even greater than I had expected with sturdy stitching and a 360 degree insulated chest baffle. The 72oz. fill is spread evenly throughout the entire body along with a healthy dose of insulation within the zipper and chest baffles. If money weren't a concern I may have gone with a down filled bag but for less than $100 this bag seems well suited for temperatures well into the lows 20s. I'll know this assumption to be valid or not next week as I go camping throughout Glacier Natl. Park with reported lows in the mid to lower 20s. The bag is somewhat bulky which may be a turnoff for minimalist or long distance style backpacking however a down bag of equal insulation would cost well into the hundreds. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and the ALPS brand has clearly proven its reputation of providing quality merchandise.

Warm but heavy.
This sleeping bag certainly keeps you warm (used in 30 to mid teen temps with tent and sleeping matt), but it is kind of bulky and heavy. It's very hard to fit into the stuff bag, but I accidentally got the longer one and I would have been fine with the regular length. It good quality from my experience thus far. I used hand warmers for my feet and actually would have been fine without them but I stayed clothed inside the sleeping bag and wore 2 pairs of wool socks. I was comfortable and warm and I slept well. But carrying the bag with my backpack and tent was hard, it's a bit large and bulky unless you have good straps for your pack.
